The first thing that I would suggest is to watch the diet. The connection between a healthy mind and body has already been proven. A healthy diet fuels the body and helps you feel better. Another tip is to try and limit your sugar and fat intake.

Building your body around fruits, vegetable, and whole grains will not a only help with your body, but also with your mood. Eating healthy and being healthy helps with depression. Some studies have suggested omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin b-12 may help ease mood changes such as depression.

Carbohydrates -- when eaten alone without protein -- raise the level of serotonin in your brain. Low-fat carbs such as a baked potato, graham crackers, or pasta without meat may help lift you out of a depression.

Cutting back on your coffee intake will help with your mood and your feelings of anxiety. Also cutting back on soda, tea, and unfortunately for some of you chocolate lovers---chocolate. This can also make a big difference in your mood and how you sleep.

Exercising for some works better then any antidepressants. You don't have to be someone who spends hours in the gym either. You can start out just walking with a friend, and as time goes on increase your workout three or four times a week.

You will feel better physically, you will sleep better at night, and trust me you will feel less depressed. If you have trouble getting started try something you like or haven't done in a while and find a partner.

Some one that can encourage and in return they can encourage you. Be sure to find something you enjoy it, it won't seem like a chore if you enjoy it.

Beck Anxiety Inventory Scoring

The Beck anxiety inventory scoring system contains a scale which is used to measure the anxiety levels. This scale rates the answers of the inventory respondents according to their symptoms and the frequency of their occurrence.

Each symptom in the inventory has scores of between zero and 3, which the test taker uses to evaluate the level of anxiety that they experience. The inventory's rating is as follows:

* A score of zero means "I do not have this symptom at all"

* A rating of one indicates the he experiences the symptom, but is not worried about the severity of it.

* A score of 2 means "I do have this symptom, and it affects me fairly often." This score indicates a moderate effect of the anxiety symptom in the respondent.

* A score of three indicates that the symptom is affecting the individual greatly and frequently. This means he experiences a severe level of the anxiety symptom.

Some of the symptoms rated by the inventory include fear of dying, difficulty in breathing, feeling nervous, dizziness, wobbliness in the legs and numbness, among other symptoms. They are aimed at distinguishing anxiety from depression symptoms.

Having read through all the symptoms as included in the inventory, the respondent will give it a rating. Then, he tallies the values that are indicated against each symptom. The total score is the anxiety level indicator. The score can be evaluated in the following manner:

* A final score of zero and 21 reflects a low level of anxiety.

* A final score in the range of 22 and 35 reflects a moderate level of anxiety, and

* A total score that is 36 points and above indicates a severe and high anxiety level, in which case the respondent should seek treatment immediately.

The scores vary from one person to another, and the daily situations that they face often determine how high or low the scores are. For the inventory to be effective, the respondent should reflect on his experience with the symptoms in the past one week. This will allow him to examine the frequency and consistency of the symptoms.

A low anxiety level is cause for celebration as it indicates that the respondent is very happy with his life, although anxiety exists for a reason. It is healthy to live a life with mild form of anxieties. Conversely, too much anxiety can cause one to live in fear and can be debilitating on his physical condition. Those who have moderate levels of anxiety are usually able to suppress their anxieties, although they should be careful not let it get out of proportion.

How Long Does a Panic Attack Last?

It is the question that has been hogging the minds of many people and even more so victims of panic attacks. This is one of the most commonly asked questions whenever someone sets out to research on panic attacks. Anxiety therapists are often inundated with this question as well. Just how long does a panic attack last?

1. No Definite Answer to the Question

The answer to this burning question is not as simple as we would like it to be. Each attack is as unique as the individual who experiences it. In mild cases, the duration of the panic attacks last only a couple of minutes. In more serious cases, and they can last up to hours. There are some victims who take measures to combat the symptoms, therefore curtailing the anxiety attacks.

2. The Answer is Very Much Dependent on the Person

Of course what all this translates to be the very simple logic that we are all different identities and would therefore exhibit either slightly varying symptoms or varying intensities of such symptoms if we were all suffering from panic attack. The reason why not everybody suffers from panic attack is because those who do not suffer from it are so well equipped that the disorder does not attack them.
